CCT finds Orubebe guilty of false declaration of asset, seizes his property

The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) sitting in Abuja, has found former Minister of Niger Delta, Godswill Orubebe, guilty of non-declaration of one of his asset, a choice property in Asokoro, Abuja. Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Danladi Umar today found him guilty of the offence and announce the forfeiture of the property to the Federal government.

Justice Umar held that the former minister committed an offence for not declaring the said property in Abuja when he was coming into office during the last administration. Orubebe when he was first arraigned, had denied the claims, stating that he had sold the property.

Justice Umar held that the prosecution with valid documents had proven without any doubt that Orubebe was indeed telling a lie.
