I will be the voice of the Lagos market women. In a typical Lagos market, market women were subjected to an illegal fee of N1000 per day before they could display their wares for sale.
This illegal revenue with no proof of official receipt go directly into the coffers of the local government authority completely unaccounted for. Current policies have grayed out what used to be clear distinction between taxation and regulation which have in turn created more hardship for the common market person. I share their concerns and I have assured them that I am their voice.
