West Brom Alan Irvine has expressed happiness with the progress of Brown Ideye is making since his return from an injury.
Ideye who is a record signing for the midlands club, has struggled to settled since his £10million switch from Ukrainian side, Dynamo Kyiv.
And Irvine even criticised Ideye for his slow progress, dropping him for a league game against Leicester City.
But now Irvine is impressed that he is gradually settling into the rigors of playing in the English Premier League.
"I think he’s progressing and I think he did a lot of good things,” Irvine told Birmingham Mail.
"He had a good chance to score, and probably should have done, but is getting sharper and sharper and better with each week that’s passing and I feel it’s only a matter of time before he gets his first Premier League goal.
"His record in the past is one where he’s scored goals. He missed pre-season and came in to us late – anyone who misses pre-season will find it difficult to catch up – and unfortunately he then got an injury just as he was getting close to playing and that set him back.
"He’s been unfortunate. I didn’t anticipate the injury so I didn’t expect him to take quite so long but that was something he couldn’t control and obviously it was a bitter blow for him and a bitter blow for us,” he added.
