SEASON 5. MY DAD MY SUPERMOM ENDS
After
thirteen weeks of intense competition, Mr. Abdulateef Adekanbi a father of four
and an indigene of Epe in Lagos State Nigeria has emerged winner of the
Supermom Reality show season 5 tagged My Dad My Supermom.
Mr.
Adekanbi born on the second of November 1951, beat nineteen other fathers from
different parts of the country to the grand prize of a Brand New Car and the
coveted honor of being crowned the Supermom winner for 2014, while Mr.
Ikechukwu Dozie and Mr. Abaniseloluwa Isijola emerged first and second runners
up carting home cash prizes of a million naira and five hundred thousand naira
respectively for their extraordinary sacrifices for their children.
Born
in Ibowon Epe local government, Mr. Adekanbi who at one time in his life worked
as a fire fighter lost his father at a very tender age thereby becoming the
bread winner of his family which ultimately caused a delay in him getting
married.
However
he later took up the mantle of motherhood when his wife and mother of his four
children suddenly left him without notice, leaving him with the responsibility
of taking care of his children all by himself sacrificing so much even in
extreme cases.
Speaking
after the announcement amidst family, friends and well wishers, Mr. Adekanbi
eulogized the efforts of Digital Interactive media thanking them for coming up
with a program like the Supermom Reality TV Show, saying it has become the hope
of the ordinary man on the street. He urged all Parents to be steadfast in
their duties as custodians of their children by laying good examples because
they are the leaders of tomorrow.
Mr.
Ikechukwu Dozie who emerged first runner up, was also full of accolades for the
organizers of the show, thanking them for also giving fathers a chance to show
the world how special they can be. He expressed his delight at emerging first
runner up saying it will spur him on not just to be a better father but a Great
Parent,
The
second runner up Mr. Abaniseloluwa Isijola in his own remark thanked God for
bringing smiles to his face after so many years of struggles with his twins, stating
that God still rewards hardwork and perseverance while also thanking Digital
Interactive Media for the Supermom initiative.
Also
speaking after the announcement, the Executive Producer of the Supermom Show
Mr. Sola Fajobi thanked God for making this year’s show a resounding success
stating that My Dad, My Supermom was particularly special to him, with the
theme inspired by his own story, as he was also raised by his father from the
age of ten with his other siblings after his parents separated years ago. He promised
that the 2015 edition of the show promises to break boundaries and is expected
to add value to lives in a meaningful way stating that plans are already on the
way to that effect.
Fajobi
also thanked the main sponsors of the Show Procter and Gamble makers of popular
family brands Oral B toothpaste and Safeguard anticeptive soap and co sponsors Promasidor
makers of Onga seasoning for their support of the Supermom brand in the last
five years reiterating DIM’S commitment in consolidating on the already cordial
business relationship that exist between them.
The
Supermom Reality TV Show since it berthed in 2010 was designed to celebrate mothers
from all socio economic class for their extraordinary sacrifices for their
children with this year’s show which is the fifth anniversary edition tagged
“My Dad, My Supermom” a break from the
norm aimed at celebrating fathers who sacrificed selflessly for their children
by taking up the mantle of motherhood in the absence of their mothers due to
unforeseen circumstances like a mothers neglect of her children, legal
separation or even death.
“My
Dad My Supermom” teaches us how to know what love requires from an unlikely
source like a Dad and when to find steel in the heart when life makes demands
on us greater than what we can endure which is part of the dynamics of the
Supermom Brand.
This year’s
show was sponsored by Procter and Gamble makers of Oral B Toothpaste and
Safeguard antiseptic soap who have been in the forefront of sponsorship of the
show since inception five years ago and co sponsored by Promasidor makers of Onga
family seasoning.
The
show is one of the numerous family oriented brands of Digital Interactive Media
Ltd and was broadcast on different terrestrial TV stations across the country
including AIT Network, Galaxy Network and is presently being aired on Africa
Magic (DSTV) in a delayed broadcast.
